User Agreement:

The ED Parent Support Program aims to provide support for parents/caregivers who are involved in implementing family-based treatment of adolescent eating disorders. It is not designed to be a replacement for therapy. The participants themselves are responsible to seek professional medical or therapeutic help or assistance.

Participation in ED Parent Support is free of charge and is provided on a voluntary basis. ED Parent Support will not be legally obligated to provide this chat group in the future and reserves the right to terminate this service at any time. This chat group may only be used by participants in family-based treatment at The University of Chicago, Emily Program, and the private practices of Dr. Kathryn B. Miller and Dr. Diann M. Ackard.

With the registration for ED parent support, the user self-selects a username and a password. In addition, the user has to provide an e-mail address to enable registration and support. Data that would enable identification of the user, e.g. first or last names, address or IP-address will not be collected over the internet.

The user is responsible for not making their username and corresponding password available to a third-person. The user is fully responsible for all actions conducted by using his/her username with his/her password. The user has the right to terminate his/her authorized access at any time by sending an e-mail under the menu item "Contact". In such a case, the user's username will be blocked.

We expressly inform you that within the internet portal, it is possible for users to submit their own content. Such content is not related to us and does not represent us or our opinion.

It is prohibited for users to publish any content which violates any laws or regulations in the ED Parent Support Program, especially political extremist, pornographic, racist, offensive, and libelous content. Of course we try to delete such content and we ask you to inform us about such content under "Contact".

The participants consent to the encrypted storage of the data on a firewall protected server and that the usage will be exclusively for research purposes.

The collected data will be treated as strictly confidential. Of course your data only will be collected and used by observing applicable data protection laws of Germany and the U.S. You can revoke your consent to the encrypted storage of your data and its use for scientific purposes at any time by sending an E-Mail under the menu item "Contact". In this case, your data will be immediately and completely erased.

The collected data will not be transferred to third parties.
